An Air France spokesperson revealed on August 31 that the group plans to develop an aviation equipment maintenance business in China to meet the growing demand in Asia, especially the Chinese market.
An Air France spokesperson revealed in an interview with the China News Service that Air France Industries' subsidiary Air France Industries intends to develop aircraft equipment and engine repair business in the Chinese market. The spokesman, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also said that this project in China is part of Air France's "2015 transformation" plan. The project is still in the research and planning stage and has been approved by most trade union organizations.
French media quoted a source close to Air France as saying that Air France will build two aircraft maintenance factories in China, and has selected locations in Xi'an and Shanghai, which are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2013.
In response to the above information, an Air France spokesperson did not confirm the timing, but she also added that considering the logistics management issues involved in mechanical or electronic maintenance, customer contracts can only be won by setting up locations closest to the market.
An Air France spokesperson also said that the group plans to build a factory in China to "fulfil the strong demand of Chinese airlines" and hopes to seize the opportunity of economic growth in China. & ldquo; If we do not seize the Asian market, others will replace it & rdquo ;.
Air France predicts that the global aircraft maintenance market, mainly Asia, will grow at a rate of 3% per year in the next 10 years. Large airlines such as Air France and Lufthansa and aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus are major competitors in this field.
The spokesperson also emphasized that the project in China will stimulate Air France's global business and obtain new customer resources, and some of the new orders will eventually benefit the French local business development.
